• Today I upgraded to the 4.5 version. The upgrade went ok,but when i was adding a new post it wont open the “ADD MEDIA” page when you hit the “ADD MEDIA” tab. Then I went and restored the old version 4.4.2, from a back up and it works again. I think there is a bug in the 4.5 upgrade, that won’t let you use the “ADD MEDIA” tab.

    Cheers

  • Ok, that did nothing. Media uploads and theme uploads don’t work and media files still can not be seen.

I will not update , till it is fixed. Please, people who work on word press. Just fix it. Thank you

Here also the problem of images not viewable on frontend…

It’s DEFINITELY the 4.5 update that is causing the media issue. Here’s what happened when I updated my website to 4.5 – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-20694RRAA&feature=youtu.be

plaease inspect page source. because included files should be enqueued after default jquery.

be sure to enqueue the jquery v1.11.3 after the v1.12.0.
only then the wordpress 4.5 errors will be eliminated.

and if you are able to sent me errors from console screen. may be then i can help you more.

I’ve found a temporary workaround for the images issue.

      Upload image/photo
      Click on “Save draft”
Then try to insert the image from the media library

This way i managed to insert images on a post. But you have to Save draft each time a new image is uploaded.

    Hi There,

Since the update to WordPress 4.5, most of the text from the site https://www.mrmeditate.com is no longer showing on desktop (mobile if fine). Please help restore it. Thanks in advance.

I reverted to 4.4.2 and everything is working as expected now.

This is most definitely a 4.5 issue, in relation to Cpanel server settings. I have 4 server hosting about 80 WordPress sites. 2 servers show symptoms and 2 don’t It’s the entire server of WP sites. All Cpanel. One server has 40 WP sites, all of which are updated to 4.5 and NONE have issues. Another Cpanel server has 20 WP sites, ALL have issues.

Even more interesting is that I have a test server that has issues with a fresh install of 4.5 with NO plugins at all.

I have gone through a side by side comparison of server settings and reconfigured a problem server with the same settings as a non-problem server, and I can’t get rid of the problem. I’ve spent a total of 12 hours on this so far. I can’t figure it out.

Here are screen capture videos of my issues – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9Bv4CEb0FQOsumK7VmuV8g

    WTF!!!

“Your site has updated to WordPress 4.5”
    REALLY!!!

SINCE THIS LAST UPDATE, MANY (MOST) OF MY IMAGES ON all MY WP SITES JUST DON’T SHOW UP ANYMORE!!!!

    WHAT HAPPENED??????

I NEED TO FIX THIS RIGHT NOW!!!
    PLEASE HELP!!

    THANK YOU TOTALLY MUCH.

THIS PAGE IS ALMOST ALL EMPTY:

    <a href=”https://facingthesky.com/cerj-lalonde-available-artwork-a/
    “>https://facingthesky.com/cerj-lalonde-available-artwork-a/

(“Yes, my own sites, one of which took hundreds of hours to build… Images are distorted… Margins and size parameters are all wrong…)

I have the same problem. If I upload a photo via Media Uploader, I get an http Error.
But, it does appear without the thumbnail preview in the library. For Featured Images, I can go back and upload them from there. However, they now upload in their original size, not the 150×150 designated by the theme.
This problem just started after 4.5 update. All plugins & themes are up to date. It must be something WP can fix on their end.
In the meantime, what’s a simple work around for adding images to media library without changing code, etc?

    HI, I did the following:

    Add the line
    suPHP_ConfigPath /home/your-cpanel-username/public_html/
    to htaccess

Add a file called php.ini to the root directory of your hosting (in public_html)
    with this in it
    memory_limit = 256M

    Media Library then appears.

The above also gets rid of the ini_set error when using quick edit etc.

Regenerate thumbnails wasn’t working before, but I’ve now deactivated “ImageMagick Sharpen Resized Images” plugin and thumbnails are working too.

ImageMagik probably conflicts with WP 4.5 new image optimisation feature.
It seems the errors we are experiencing are related to the way WordPress 4.5 requests memory from the host.
