When they create an account from my site after changing the password they do not accept the updated and changed password!
The problem is due to a probable Wordfence setting.
In fact, if you disable the plugin, the passwords work!
It happens that by creating a new account and changing the password it is not possible to enter the account with the new password!
Then I should change it as admin and then yes it works, but I can’t do this for all accounts!
    let me know, thanks

Hi @directordayking, thanks for reaching out to us.

Wordfence does not directly act on WordPress user accounts in most cases like a user management plugin would so the password change may be affected by another plugin or the way in which the user passwords are changed. I notice the reCAPTCHA on your site is reporting an invalid site key, which could be a factor in why certain forms will not work.

After fixing the site key, Learning Mode could help if the password change script is being stopped in some way in the background. However, if this doesn’t work, try disabling all plugins except for Wordfence and reverting to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-One.

Does the password reset fail to work when Wordfence is the only plugin enabled? If it now works, you may be able to re-enable your plugins and theme one-by-one until you find when the problem starts happening again.

You can install a maintenance mode plugin during this time if site visitors are likely to be affected. Browser extensions can also sometimes interfere with these pages so disabling those at the same time, or getting the affected site visitors to use a different browser to their default may be an idea during this period of testing too!

    Thanks,

    Peter.

Sorry, but I thought there was some problem! Yes I had seen the problem but the reCAPTCHA plugin is disabled! and I don’t understand why it still reports the problem on the registration page.

What you ask to do is complicated because some plugins after reactivating them I have to set them up again from scratch once deactivated.

I had thought about changing registration plugin, perhaps reCAPTCHA conflicts with another probably with that of languages.

But the problem does it even if I create a user account and then the user changes the password. If you don’t change it, the password works. It only happens when it is changed.
I had tried to disable Wordfence and it did not create the problem, but perhaps it is a coincidence!
    Thanks for the reply

    Hi @directordayking,

Wordfence does not support custom login pages with 2FA or reCAPTCHA so they cannot be enabled if this is the case. I’m still seeing the reCAPTCHA error on the page you provided even now – but not a console error any more. Is Wordfence still enabled and is our version of reCAPTCHA turned off as per your previous message?

If Wordfence is off, the reCAPTCHA error is occurring from a different source. It might be worth sending us a site diagnostic wftest @ wordfence . com. You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Peter.
