The images/icons on the WYSIWYG editor’s toolbar do not show. Functions are there (mouse-over brings up tips) but images do not show. Also (related?) Thumbnail views do not show for uploaded images.

    Here’s what I’ve done:

This is a fresh install and fresh MySQL DB with no plugins or added themes.

I’ve read the troubleshooting guide master for 3.5.

I first installed 3.5.1 and encountered the problem and wiped DB and directory then rolled back with fresh download to 3.5. Both have same issue.

    Cleared Cache on browser

Tested with Firefox 18.0.1 and IE 8.0 (I know it’s way out of date but that’s what I got).

Searching forum for clues as to what I’ve done wrong…

  • What theme are you using (it looks possibly outdated?) and have you tried switching to a default WP theme with all plugins deactivated?

EndlessScroll.com: I’m not sure what files you are referring to. Can you give a pointer to file/location(s) to look at?

WPyogi:This is a fresh install and fresh MySQL DB with no added plugins or added themes. The only theme is the one that comes packaged in the zip file (Twenty Twelve ver 1.1 for WP 3.5)

Behavior happens from ground zero of installation. no plugins activated, no added themes.

the site is sitting here: john.hepburnhome.ca

checked my settings on FTP client to make sure uploading didn’t mess with the files – All good.

Compared CMOD to my other site(s) running under 3.4.2 and files are the same for permissions.

    Hmmmmmm…..

Check that anti-hotlinking isn’t enabled in your hosting account. If it is, try disabling it.

    esmi:

Anti-Hotlinking was enabled; I disabled it and WYSIWYG editor is working. Thumbnails are showing. You’re the best! Thanks!

Is there a forum thread describing this issue? I’d like to configure my anti-hotlinking a little better; it was just set up shot-gun style on my entire hosting space.
