Hi, I am currently creating a page with your plugin – first of all, thank you very much for your work.

However, I have a problem with Google Maps:

I use Colibri WP and the “Maps” component available in it. Actually, the integration of Google Maps works without problems. However, only until I activate the “Google Maps” service in Complianz. Then the following happens:

    1. activated service and activated placeholder.
The page layout breaks completely; the YouTube video, which is also on the page, is no longer displayed at all.

    2. activated service but deactivated placeholder; cookies rejected
The page layout is fine. The map is not displayed, white space instead.

    3. activated service but deactivated placeholder; cookies accepted.
The page layout is OK. The map is displayed where the YouTube video should be. The video is not displayed.

    4. deactivated service
The page works normally. Google Maps and video are displayed normally.

On a page without additional YouTube video, there is the following behaviour:

    5. service enabled and placeholder enabled; cookies accepted.
Page layout is fine. But the height of the map is much smaller than set.

    6. activated service and activated placeholder; cookies rejected.
Page layout is OK. Placeholder is displayed correctly.

(As the page is still under construction, it is currently not available online)

    Hi @praetonius,

We’re looking at why this might happen. I can use a widget video block without issues, but the video block is populated by theme.js, and this might cause an issue. We’re having a look, but it might be wise to ask your theme’s developer as well.

    Hi @praetonius,

I have reached out to the ColibriWP team to obtain further insights in how they handle YouTube specifically, and for any other pointers that might aid us in finding the cause of this issue.

I’ll make sure to post here if there are any further updates in the meantime.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

Since the opportunity arose, I also asked Colibri WP about this. I received the following feedback from them. Maybe that helps?

    2. the issues seem to be in the Complianz. When you have a video displaying on a page with a google map, the HTML code Colibri outputts gets “hijacked” and replaced.

There is something wrong in the complianz-gdpr\class-cookie-blocker.php file, lines 504-549. The regex used to search for iframes is either not working correctly or something happens while the output buffering is created/filtered, line 360 in the same file.

We currently don’t have a solution for this, it should be fixed in the Compliantz plugin.

    Best

    Hi @praetonius,

Thank you for getting back to us about this.

Yes, we “hijack” the HTML as that how the Cookie Blocker does its’ job. We would very much like to debug the issue further, but are unable to do so on ColibriWP’s online demo environment.

We’d need to reproduce where the regex is not correct in this instance, as well as why this only occurs with ColibriWP and not with any other theme(s).

I had reached out to the ColibriWP team concerning this, and if they could possibly provide us with a development license allowing us to test on a local environment, but haven’t heard back yet. We would be glad to look into this, although we would need an environment to test this.

Perhaps you could ask the ColibriWP team to send us a message at support(at)complianz.io, so we are able to progress with this?

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

Hi, I wrote to them. ??

    Hi @praetonius,

Thank you for your patience, hope you’re doing well!

The ColibriWP team kindly sent us a compatibility add-on, which I have tested on one of their demo environments and fixes the described issue.

Please find ColibriWP’s compatibility add-on for Complianz attached on this WeTransfer link: https://we.tl/t-TJO6lyzsOp

It can be installed as a ‘regular’ plugin on your WordPress site.

    Hope this helps!
    Kind regards,

Page layout is fine. But the height of the map is much smaller than set.

I have the same issue. It totally screws the layout, because the map size is then overwritten with an inline style, whixh seems to be from Complianz.

I don’t want and understand that. Thus, instead of filling 100% of the upper layer’s div’s size, I have a small stripe and much white room. That’s a very an annoying issue for months.

If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the WordPress Forum Rules , please post your own topic. A lot more people will see your post, and the original Topic starter will not get notifications. That way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc.

    Okay
