Problems With Images

  • Hi,

    I’m running a (NSFW) advertising site, whereby all of those posts that qualify get a post in the slider. These posts should be limited to one per item and also have the main image added to an except.

    I’ve been noticing for a few weeks now though, that when I click to add an item to the slider in the back end, ALL of the images are showing up, meaning that I have to go into the slider and delete the excess slides.

    Is there a way to limit the slider to only using the first image of an advert?

    My settings so far are (in the thumbnail image settings)
    1) Use Custom Field Key
    2) Use Featured post (thumbnail)
    3) Consider images attached to the post (1 is selected)

    However I just noticed that in the Slider Content section, there is a possible extra setting relating to this – Pick Content From – containing three fields – Slider Content Custom Field, Post Excerpt, and From Content.

    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for writing to us.

    Please confirm that you are adding slides into the slider from Post Meta Box of Smooth slider which is available in edit post/page.

    If you want only one image in slide then please uncheck below options of Image Pick Preferences and Save changes.
    1) Use Custom Field Key
    2) Use Featured post (thumbnail)

    Hi,

    Yes, I am trying to add slider images via the post meta box in edit post/page – the box that has an on/off switch to enable the slider.

    I just tried the above settings on a post that has three images attached, and all three images were added to the slider.

    How do I make it so that only the featured image is attached?

    If you are using Post meta box to add slides into slider then only one image of post should appear in slider.

    If you want only Featured image in slider then enable only featured image from Image Pick Preferences option and disable others.

    Right, I’d just like to make sure we’re reading from the same hymn sheet here – when you say ‘add slider into meta box’ by using the Post Meta Box, I’m guessing that you mean ‘Activate Slider by using the green on/off switch’, right?

    Because I’ve just added a new slide that has two images in the post and set it to use ‘Featured Post/Thumbnail’ (which only opened a text slider) so then I set it to ‘Consider images from the post – set to 1’ which got the image back, and I just ended up getting ALL images from the post and had to go into the back end and delete the excess.

    This plugin used to work so easily, none of this hassle, so what’s wrong with it now?

    Well yes, everything is working perfectly, because I edit the slider straight away and do not let the excess images get seen by users. The slider is most definitely not working perfectly though!
