    Hi,

I’m having problems with media library that all the images just appear as grey squares and on the client side, they are not displayed. I can upload a new image but it will appear to be a grey square as well. I inspected the web pages and the console says:

Failed to load resource: the server respond with a status 404 ()

I checked the uploads folder through FTP, the images are there. I’ve checked the file permission and even to made sure, I changed it to 755 for the uploads folder (as well as every subdirectories) and 644 for every file in it.

I’d appreciate any help. Thank you!

  • Could you try to set the folder permissions to 744?
    What is your PHP Version?

I’ve figured out what the problem was. There was an .htaccess file of an old plugin (Webp Expess) which was deactivated 2-3 weeks ago and nothing happened until yesterday when I deleted the plugin. But after I removed the .htaccess file, everything came back to normal.Thank you anway!
