Problems with media uploading and adding to posts other issues

    Recently i have some issues with WordPress. I think it all began with 3.8 update.

    There is a lot of them but the one I can’t deal with at the moment is media.

    I used drag and drop option to upload few pics to my media library. It started to upload, but after each picture reched 100% an error occured. I checked my library on WP admin and on FTP and the pictures phisycally are on the server, but…
    when I want to add them to the post through ‘add media’ I can’t see anything. It’s like my media library is empty.

    also a small thing appeard at the top of my blog it looks like a bit of code or soemthing ‘fn() ?>() ?>ks ?>’ it’s on every page and I dont know where it came from and how it happened to be there.

    It all started when afer new years i tried to open my website and i had a critical error and there was a path to the file that contained the error. it was jetpack from worsdpress.com so i deletied plugin from my ftp and the blog started to work but this line on the top appeard. And I installed jetpack again and it seems to be ok. Also there was a time i could’t access pages woth adding profiles in WP Admin and few other tabs, it was like this pages didn’t exist at all.

    I reinstalled the latest update but it doesnt solve the problem.

    Any ideas what it can be?

  • normally the way to trouble shoot something like that

    is to turn off all your plugins
    change to a default theme like 2012

    then try your uploads

    Make sure that you are uploading a small image for testing
    try something about 30k as a test.

    If it works then you will need to go through all your plugins one at a time and test… and the same for your theme.

    When you say you reinstalled the update .. You mean you reinstalled 3.8? if not do that first .. you might have a corrupt file.

    Jumbo, yes i mean I reinstalled 3.8 couple of times already so all files should be fine. The only plugin i use is JetPack i tried turning it off but it does nothing.

    Try switching to the default theme?

    I switched to 2014 and i can see the media, but when i switch to Parabola Theme again its going back to where it was.

    I also found that there are issues with my xmlrpc.php file and thats what is causing this annoying little bit on top of my website. Anyone know how to deal with both of this issues?
