• For some reason I have to go to the Checkout page the first time to see the shipping. On the cart I just get the message “shipping calculated at checkout.” But when I go add a second product I see the shipping on the cart.

The system wants to see something on the checkout page even if it is blank in order to see the shipping cost.

Hi @caltuna123, it seems to me that what you are reporting is about how WooCommerce works and not necessarily our plugin. Try adding a default Flat rate method and take a look to see if it works as you expect.

If you want the shipping cost to be calculated on the cart page, make sure you have Enable the shipping calculator on the cart page enabled:

Enable the shipping calculator on the cart page

The way WooCommerce works is that if you have already filled in the address in checkout, the shipping cost will also be displayed in the cart (because the address has already been entered).

You might also check the WooCommerce General options and set the Default customer location:

Our solution works just like the WooCommerce’s default methods in this regard.

If you need additional support, please let us know, we’ll be happy to help.

    Best regards,

You are right, there is nothing wrong with your plugin. If Woo does not know where the customer lives it can’t adjudicate the shipping cost. Our client only ships in the US.

What fixed the issue for us was to set the Default Customer Location to “Geolocation” (after getting a free account and license from Maxmind.) Once we put that in, the plugin worked great.

We do NOT enable the Shipping Calculator. Your plugin does not seem to need it at all. With Geolocation setting everything works like we want it to.
