Problems with password protecting pages

Recently I have been having problems trying to access my password protected pages. I enter the correct password but it doesn’t grant me access. This is only happening on Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. It works fine on IE. It started happening when I updated my theme to 1.7.1. I tried disabling all my plugins and then re-enabling them one by one. I tried reinstalling wordpress. I can’t seem to figure out what the problem is. Is there something I need to do and if so what is it?
