    Hi
I’ve just upgraded to the latest version of NextGen Gallery and now my galleries do not show. I’m getting a Page Not Found error. If I uncheck the Deactivate gallery page link in the Gallery settings, clicking on the links to the galleries simply refreshes the gallery page without showing the requested gallery. If I uncheck the Activate Permalinks option in the General Options, then the galleries show but without a title or anything.

I have tried clicking the Save button to update the Permalinks, which I gather is the way to do this, but it has no effect and everything remains the same.

Also, the styling of my gallery page seems to have been lost.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Again : I will look to get it running ( think I mentioned already ) …

mykkal: You posted a new thread about permalinks, but that thread can’t be accessed so you’re getting no readers and won’t get comments. I think a percent symbol got in the thread’s permalink. Try reposting with a simpler title.

Hey RoamFree I actually just got around to reposting the permalink issue. Here’s the link: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/custom-permalinks-not-working-with-181?replies=1

Wonder if the developer has worked on it anymore?

I’ve been thirsty to get images indexed for a long time. Having to break my permalink structure just doesn’t seem fair.

For reference I use this permalink structure /%category%/%postname%/… Which I think is thenumber #1 custom peramlink structure in use. Love for others to chime in.

    Alex…

Ok now that 1.8.2 is released does it support customer permalinks such as /%category%/%postname%/?

    No this is not fixed

    No this is not fixed

OK. Just curious have you given up on that? Because eventually nextgen 1.7 won’t be compatible as new versions of WordPress come out. I just won’t break my site’s SEO to use a plugin. It would be nice to have the galleries and images indexed but I just can’t that risk

Please let me know in case I need to start looking for a new solution. Thank you for all you’ve done

Here is a first test candidate : https://code.google.com/p/nextgen-gallery/source/detail?r=972

Tested this just locally, but should do the trick.

Nevermind… Guys here’s the link to download and replace the rewrite files.

    https://nextgen-gallery.googlecode.com/svn-history/r972/trunk/lib/rewrite.php

The version 1.8.3 solve the permalink problem for me;-)

    (WordPress 3.2.1 – next-gen gallery : 1.8.3 – My structure is /%category%/%postname%/)

    Thanks very much.

    [album id=x template=compact]

    Doesn’t work for me..
But if I set at specific id , it works like a charm…

Hello. I just upgraded to 1.8.3 and all of a sudden when I click on a thumbnail I get a light-box effect if I use any JavaScript Thumbnail effect other than none, which then just thinks to the jpg. It was clicking through just fine to the page URL set under manage gallery before I upgraded. How do I get it back to where it was?

    Hi
I see that the new version fixes some custom permalink structures, but my custom structure is /%year%/%postname%/. Will this work now in version 1.8.3?

    Thanks

I’m using Nextgen Gallery Version 1.9.2 with WordPress 3.3.1 (default theme), i have made a page with a gallery on it as homepage. If i set up permalinks the paging is not working, i get a 404.
This happens only on the home page, with other pages the permalinks with pagination are working.

    Hi

I’m having problems with permalinks. I’m using day and name as my permalink structure, but everyday my gallery permalinks get broken and I have to re save my permalinks in wordpress to get them working. This is a nightmare my users are getting 404s from my over 300 galleries.

How can I fix this please as I can’t spend everyday checking that permalinks are working.

    Thanks

    Everton
