• I have several multisite WordPress environments which I manage. After the update to the latest version of WP, Eversion 4.9.6, we have had problems with sites whose permanent links are personalized with day and postname and when accessing any input gives a “Page not found” error.

The solution that we have seen at the administration level is simply to go to Settings – Permanent Links of the blog, and clicking on “Save” the problem is already solved.

Nothing happens if you have few sites, but in our organization we have many sites and many multisite platforms, so the number of incidents can be very high users complaining.

I beg you to look at this problem to get a new version to correct it as soon as possible.

Thank you very much in advance.

  • I had the same problem with Not Found [CFN #0005] error on all pages and posts and concluded the permalinks needed refreshing – saving the permalinks settings worked. Only found this forum post after finding the fix and wishing to share the fix with the wordpress community.

How many users affected will work this one out for themselves?

I also had two plugins deactivated with a files missing error – reinstalling them and reactivating them restored the plugins from the original files.

Agree an early update to remedy this is required or an email announcement to sites affected.

    Hi petehatch

Thank you very much for the contribution and know that I am not the only administrator of WP platforms that has seen this problem.

The solution to the problem is what you comment, only enough to access “Settings – Permanent Links” and simply click on “Save”, without having to change any option.

The problem is that there is no automated way to perform this step for all the sites I have, which are approximately between 200-400 sites per WP multisite platform, and many of them users do not have administrator role so there is to manually access and do this step one after the other, and the truth is that it is a junk job.

I hope they give solution soon as it is a serious error.

    Regards!

I have just noticed also that there is a problem with images not being found also i think due to permalinks – do you have this problem? Is there a way to refresh media permalinks?

Found out the missing images were due to a failure of my service provider Easily to copy over all files in a server migration.

This also explains the missing two plugins

Wordpress does not respond to this problem that is seen to be widespread !?
