    Hi!

I have some troubles with Polylang v1.6.1 on a clean Worpress instance at https://balu-bau.eu/site.

Polylang was the first plug-in, that I have installed and activated using the built-in installer after some little configuration:

    • Description
    • Time Zone = UTC+1
    • Time format
    • Permalinks was set to “Post name”

The settings of Polylang I have changed as follows:

    • Languages installed: hu_HU, de_DE, en_US
    • Default language: English
    • URL modifications had I set to “The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks”

After configuring Polylang I had added the “Language switcher” widget to the “Primary Sidebar”.

I thought, I’m done, and I had called using an Hungarian Firefox (after deleting the complete browser history) https://balu-bau.eu/site and was redirected to https://balu-bau.eu/site/en. I mean this is with the configuration described above wrong, I should have redirected to https://balu-bau.eu/site/hu. Is this true, or I’m wrong?

The next thing is, that the “Language switcher” widget shows always only one language, the default one, with the configuration described above, only English.

Can me anyone help what I have did wrong?

    Thanks!

    Hello
I tested with Twenty Fourteen 1.2 + only Polylang 1.6.1 (WP 4.0.1): it works.

    what I have did wrong?

    Could you check these steps:

    1) Activate Polylang
    2) Create your languages => Settings > Languages > Tab Languages
    3) Choose your permalinks => Settings > Permalinks
    4) Create your static front pages (if necessary) per language
    => Pages > Add new
4.1) Define your static front page => Settings > Reading
    5) Choose your Polylang settings => Settings > Languages > tab “Settings”
    6) Create your widget => Appearance > Widgets
    7) Create your content which go in menus
    8) Create your menus => Appearance > Menus. A menu per language. Put in your menus at least one page or post if you want they appear on your website.

    Hi Chrystl!

I have done the steps described by you. It looks like they have worked.

    Thanks!

P.s.: I mark this topic not resolved yet, it may be that I will still have some related problems.
