    Hi,

I’m using a full-screen form in the popup and having trouble with the settings. I give users the option to click Go to Homepage instead of giving their email address. when they choose this option, and then go back to the “hidden” page, it shows the page without asking for their email again. I’ve got cookies set to:

f it is converted, show it again…

never, or until browser cookies are cleared

If it is closed, but not converted, show it again…

any time the display rules are met

Remember a visitor who has seen this campaign…

What am I doing wrong please?

    Many Thanks

    Vernita

    Hi Vernita ??

Yes, if the button you have configured to go to the Homepage has conversion tracking enabled, you’ll need to adjust the “if it is converted..” cookie setting to show “any time the display rules are met”.

Would you make that change, then re-test using a brand new Incognito window?

Let us know how that goes. ??

    Thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply. I made the change but it is still happening. I made the change here:

    Campaigns > Edit Design > Design > Display Rules > Actions >

Is that the correct place. I seem to remember that are settings somewhere else but I can’t find that now.

    Many Thanks

    Hi @redswirl

I checked it out and it seems you have set the button action to show the Yes/No View and Yes/No View is disabled for your campaign: https://a.supportally.com/i/YJy7u4

So essentially it would take submissions but would never close the campaign.

Can you please make the change and test it out again? If possible create a video so we can use the same steps to test things the same way.

Where do I change this setting please? I looked everywhere and when I google it is not available for the free account. So not sure how it is on? I get:

Yes / No Multi-Step Campaigns?is a Pro Feature when I click in the Footer bar, so it must be somewhere else?

Sure you can change it like this: https://optinmonster.com/docs/how-to-use-actions-for-success-view-and-more/#Configure_Button_Action

Just set it to show the Success View or you can redirect it to a URL as per your choice.

I hope you have everything you need on this. Please feel free to write if you have any questions.

It is still not working, if I do not enter my email address, it redirects to the Homepage as it should, but when I go back to the hidden page it does not ask me for my email again. I changed the setting as you suggested.

    Hi @redswirl,

You are using Global Cookies on your account that is setting a Global Interaction cookie stopping the campaign from appearing again: https://a.supportally.com/i/EqEwIO

Here is how they work: https://optinmonster.com/docs/how-optin-cookies-and-the-global-cookie-work-in-optinmonster/#Global_Cookies

    I hope that helps.

    Hi

This campaign is still giving problems. The site is supposed to go live tomorrow and this is the only thing holding it up. The campaign does not come up at all anymore. I’ve used different browsers, incognito tabs, asked other people to test. It worked about a week ago, when my client made me aware that the “click anywhere to close” functionality did not work. There was no way to close the window on the success screen. We can’t activate the Close button, because then people will close it before entering their email address. When I spoke to your sales person a few weeks ago they assured me this campaign will work for our needs. So please help, I’m panicked!

    Hello @redswirl,

I’m seeing the campaign appear immediately when I visit the site from Chrome like this — https://a.supportally.com/i/ihhUMS

Would you try visiting this URL – https://anevenbetterplacetowork.com/newsite/employee-engagement-diagnostics/?omclear=true

That will confirm if the issue is related to cookies being set in the browser between tests. If that doesn’t result in the campaign showing for you, would you check the following:

    1. When you use Incognito for testing, please be sure to close out the window and start a new Incognito session for each test.
    2. Are you using a major supported browser, e.g. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or Opera?
    3. Do you have any browser extensions installed? Occasionally, a browser extension may interfere, most commonly some type of adblock tools.
    4. Are you using any type of VPN or Firewall? Can you test from a different internet connection to see if that is a factor?

Since this is a Fullscreen type campaign, it cannot be closed by clicking “anywhere” within the campaign content. However, a good solution here would be to enable the Close Button (and style it as you wish for it to appear), and add the following CSS to your campaign to hide the Close Button from the Optin view (so it is only shown when they reach the Success view):

    html div#om-{{id}}-optin .{{ns}}-close {
        display: none !important;
    }

Let us know how that goes, thanks!

Thank you, I will try that with the close button. I eventually got the pop up to show for the 3 pages that I added a week ago, however none of the new pages I added today display the pop up, I can’t understand why.

    It shows for:

    https://anevenbetterplacetowork.com/newsite/human-resources-engagement-diagnostics/

    https://anevenbetterplacetowork.com/newsite/employer-engagement-diagnostics/

    https://anevenbetterplacetowork.com/newsite/employee-engagement-diagnostics/

    but not for:

    https://anevenbetterplacetowork.com/newsite/work-with-me/

or any of the pages under Library or bp2w in the navigation.

    It’s so strange?

    Hi @redswirl,

Great, thanks for the quick update!

Would you navigate to the WordPress admin > OptinMonster > Campaigns screen for your site. Select the Output Settings link for this campaign.

On the Output Settings screen, please be sure to remove any targeting configured. All checkboxes should be unchecked, and input fields empty.

Once that’s done, please clear any caching plugin you might have running on the site. Let me know when that’s done.

    Thanks!

    Thread Starter redswirl

    (@redswirl)

I’m not sure if I am on the correct screen. How do I share a screenshot? There are no checkboxes. It says:

    Restricted Content

    WordPress Output Settings

Control when and where your campaigns are displayed once the targeting conditions are met.

    (@redswirl)

Oh wait, the rest of the page just appeared. For some reason it did not show the first time. When I went back there were more settings. That was exactly it, thank you so much!!

There is one more problem, I enabled the close button, hidden it on the Opt in page with your CSS, but when I click anywhere the pop up goes away and the hidden page is showing. It should redirect to the Homepage if they choose not to give their email address.
