Problems with sidebar widgets and uploading photos photos

Hello I would be the first to admit I do not belong near a computer,all I have used it for is research and emails. I have been trying to learn about putting a website together to sell some fine land I have in Mexico. If it was not for that corrot I would have gaven up a while back. I started using the theme Marketer but that just did not work for me. I then switched over to Make hoping the gallery page would help me more. Some how they seemed to combine as with fonts and colors. I changed it about 40 times just playing with it to learn.
I deleted wp and my theme and started all over to get rid of all the mistakes I had made. Yesterday I had set up my home page before I had to quit. At that time there was 4 options I believe how to set up that page and I chose the open theme. I set up my right side bar and installed a widget for surf forecast worked great. I put in my text and uploaded a photo. Lost the right sidebar. Somehoe the right side bar option became unchecked. checked the box and it never came back. So I set up my fonts size in the customize section,it was fitting the header. Go to to my site, coastalpropertiesofmexico.com only to find the title in now taking up 3 lines instead of being on one line now. Also the color codes I had used in the site before I deleted it is not working on this install.thought it better to walk away rather then shot my computer. Today I saw there was a new version of make available so I installed it. Now today the photo I had been using is huge,on top of the text. I tried installing the text and photo in different orders trying to get the photo to stay down below the text to the left so it will be out of the way of the right sidebar(that refuses to show up). When I now go to Appearance/widgets the right sidebar is there with my widget. I have tried republishing my home page but it comes out the same. I tried to go to Appearance/custumize/sidebarand widgets. In this section there is only 3 boxes footer1,footer2 and footer3. No sidebar or widget section. The colors are still off but I feel confident I can work that out later.
Also when I go to upload a photo with the nexgen gallery I have an option for full photo and single pic I see no difference on the page between the 2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
