• I recently changed the url of my blog. The old url was verified so I’ve done this before successfully. I just got an email that the new url isn’t verified.

I set up a new url in my google analytics/webmaster tools and I’ve replaced the old code with new code but Google, Bing and even alexa can’t get the site verified. I am getting a message like this no matter which method I use:

“Verification failed for https://tlcoffeywrites.com/ using the Meta tag method (less than a minute ago). We were unable to connect to your server.”

But the site is up and I’ve check with my web host and there’s no problem with the server having been down or anything.

I even installed some plugins that are supposed to do this but they didn’t work either.

I’m down to thinking I need to delete the site and start from scratch but that seems a little extreme. Can any one help?

Is there anyone that can help with this? Hasn’t anybody ever experienced this glitch before?

I’ve just come across this error too. I couldn’t get it to verify the site (which was previously verified within the past 30 days, AND verified in Analytics) via the meta tag or via Analytics. We used the HTML upload to upload the HTML file to the base folder of the site and were able to get it to successfully verify. I would try that if I were you, and see if it works.
