    Hi Yoast Team!

I have problems uninstalling the Yoast plugin.

I explain: i had duplicate with duplicator plugin a domain1 to domain2 and the problem I have is the domain2 had the metatitles of the domain1.

I had change the domain name in the Yoast configuration but weeks later If do a site:domain2.com the metatiles in Google appears with the name of the domain1.com.

I saw that if let the plugin take automatic data from a page or post in Yoast Box with the tipical “%%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%% “, only the %%sitename%% is the name of domain1.com.

I remove the plugin from the menu of WP, throught FTP, using another plugins to remove Yoast completly, and search terms in the bbdd and nothing. I dont know why Yoast still keep the name of the domain1.com in the %%sitename%%

Can you help me to fix this?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi,

We would like some more information.

    1. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.0.3? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider.?Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast.?This guide explains more:?https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    3. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v9.5? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    4. If you go to Settings-General can you confirm the Site Title and Tagline are different? If you change it, does the right site title then appear?

Can you please provide us with a link to the site you are experiencing this issue on so we can review this further?

In regards to the ‘Site Title’ setting in WordPress under Settings>General, can you please test if changing this setting is reflected in the value for %%sitetitle%% ? If you do not see a change after updating this setting, if you clear your cache (server, plugin, or CDN such as Cloudflare) does this resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear your server cache you should speak with your host provider.
