    Hello,
i like the stop words removal feature, but i have some problems:

When is it applied? At what step of the Post creation process. Because for me it only seems to work sometimes. Does it work if i create a post from an App on my phone? It seems not to.
Is there an option that removes stop words for Posts that are already existing and still have them?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

The remove stop words works prior to the post being published. However, we have an open issue where the stop words feature does not work as expected. You can view it here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/8171. We suggest commenting on it so you may be kept aware of updates.

Additionally, the free Yoast do not have a feature which removes stop words from published posts. You would need to edit the slug of each published manually to remove the stop words. However, this will then create a new link and make the old link be a 404 (or not found) page.

Our Yoast SEO Premium comes with the ability to make redirects automatically. So if you edit the slug of an published post to remove the stop words, it will create a redirect from the old permalink to the new one, automatically. You can learn more about the plugin, and if needed, including how to purchase it here: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/.?

Ok, thanks for your answer. The PRO Features sound good so i will most likely buy it in the future.
