    Hey Sybre,

I’m using your Plugins for years now, but I’m starting to customize some outputs of it for the first time.

Currently I’m having problems with the Breadcrumb Navigation.

I found the following support ticket: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/breadcrumbs-root-name/

I have applied the filter onto my customers page, but it seems to not work.

The current output of the breadcrumb is:

Home > SEO Titel of the Page

    But what I want is:

    Home > Page Title

But it didn’t seem to work. I hope you help me.

    Best Regards

Note: I marked it as NSFW because the page in question promotes gambling.

    Howdy!

The topic you linked to is 7 years old ??. Now I feel old.

In TSF v5.0, I introduced a new Schema.org generator; the breadcrumbs are part of that and were, therefore, rewritten. However, I was under a time constraint (the changelog is 78 minutes worth of reading time, and I wanted it out before Black Friday 2023), so I couldn’t migrate over that filter. The difficulty is that the new generator is much more complex since it works for all of WordPress, and WordPress doesn’t allow editing every type of page. So, I had to decide what title to get for all users, and I chose the one that benefitted Schema.org the most at the expense of the shortcode.

I will address this in the next major update (or the one hereafter), probably by rewriting the generator again: https://github.com/sybrew/the-seo-framework/issues/668. I listed the proposal in that issue as “1. Allow selection of a breadcrumb title type…”.

I’m afraid I have no solution other than to suggest using Breadcrumbs NavXT in the meantime.
