Problems with the dashboard multisite

Have you tried renaming your .htaccess file?

This sounds like something a .htaccess file controls or a caching plugin issue.

NO neither nor. I have not renamed the .htaccess. And there is no caching plugin running either. I also deactivated all plugins, unfortunately without result.

Try renaming the .htaccess file and then access the site.

Htaccess rules don’t work very well on anything but Apache-based servers.

From what I can see it looks like you are running a Multisite on an Nginx-based web server so you should have the directives that would have been in htaccess translated and moved to that Nginx config file unless that Nginx box is just acting as a proxy to your real webserver. Your web host should be able to help you with figuring that out and checking for those directives (rules) as needed.

I don’t really think so. a long time ago everything worked fine and the .htaccess file was not changed. can’t have another cause

I don’t want to say that you don’t understand my problem. I just don’t really understand what you said yesterday. maybe you can explain that to me even better.

I just wanted to point out that htaccess is tricky and even trickier yet when you’re running an Nginx-based server. I did see either an Nginx proxy or web server running there so I was wanting to know which it was or pointing you to the help available at your web host to possibly resolve the whole problem.

You’re telling me that things worked sometime back but I’m in the dark about any changes that have been done since, so the htaccess is the best place to look and how you look at that is different depending on the server type.

The funny part about what I do know is my dashboard in one of my subsites looked like yours in that image you provided so I recognized the problem.

So, if you can assure me that the server is Apache on a Unix based box then we can proceed from there.

I clarified this with the hosting provider. we use nginx.

Both web servers are active on your system. we have configured the domain so that it now works in “Apache” mode. but there is no change.

Well, that’s a new one on me… I’ve never heard of ‘Apache mode’ for Nginx but I don’t use Nginx as a web server either.

One more time though… I really think it’s a directive issue concerning a directive that would be in htaccess if the server was an Apache server.

I don’t think that’s the cause either. because everything already worked in the same server mode.

On the problem url you mentioned I see the word ‘webshop’…

I’m curious about where that comes from and why that might be in the URL of the admin URL? That right there makes me suspicious of your htaccess file or else the permalinks for the sites experiencing the problem.

I also sense some real confusion centering around that server type question…

Finally, I think it might be time to ask for some more info in the form of some links to the main site and a broken subsite(s), and a copy of your htaccess file.

You may want to look into hiring someone to come in and look your site over, then fix that problem. You’ll want someone experienced with multisite. You could offer to hire somewhere like https://jobs.wordpress.net/
