1. Ctrl+k no longer works as a keyboard shortcut for adding a link. I’d strongly encourage you to add it back.
    2. The https:// portion of the link that is autofilled isn’t selected by default like it used to be making it extra work to paste in a URL. The result is something like https://https://www.google.com unless the user remembers to first type Ctrl+a. Since most users probably paste in URLs, the old method is definitely preferable!
    3. I use libronixdls: links all the time (e.g., libronixdls:jump|res=LLS%3A1.0.710). The visual editor used to handle them perfectly, but now it turns them all into https://philgons.com/wp-admin/libronixdls:, making them all broken. This is very frustrating. The only solution is to use the HTML editor only. If I re-edit a post with the visual editor and save it, it breaks all the links again. I’d very much like to have this corrected.

Besides these frustrations, I’m loving 2.5!

  • I agree with #2. I’d like to see that return as well. Does anyone know a fix for that?

For me, the visual tab to add the link doesn’t work at all, the popup is blank. Now I must go to HTML view to add any links.

Personally, number 2 above doesn’t bother me, but I’d like to see the link feature fixed. (BTW – I run Firefox on a MAC OSX 10.3.9)

I’m having the same problem with the insert/edit link popup – in the latest Safari, FireFox for Windows, and Firefox Beta 5 for Mac. I’ve tried emptying the cache, which some other folks have said fixed it, but no luck – when I click “insert” it simply clears the form.

We’re probably going to rip it out and use 2.3.3 for this project; it’s going to be a group blog and some bloggers will not be comfortable working with HTML (I am, but that’s me) and this is such a basic feature that it’s a show stopper for us.

Very frustrating. Anybody found a reliable fix?

The OP’s #2 is driving me crazy as well. It seems really counterintuitive.

I never knew about Ctrl+k! I hope they do bring that back because I love keyboard shortcuts.
