• I downloaded FTP like the Wiki site said, and I keep trying to log in to https://www.blogthing.com (That is the site I signed up to.) and it wont work. For my username I used admin. Am I supposed to use that? Anyways, I have used multiple usernames and passwords, and it still wont connect. What do I do? I can post on my blog, but I really want to add pictures and it wont show the miscellaneous link that everyone says to go to. I am so lost right now. Could something have gone wrong? I am just trying to do what the Wiki site said and to transfer files over. But I don’t really know how to do that because the directions arn’t that clear to me. The most important thing to me right now is to upload pictures. If in some way, someone could help me figure out why the miscellaneous link is missing from my Options link, I would be very happy, as I have been trying to figure this out all day!
Someone please help me as I am in need of some desperate help!

If you’re hosted by a hosting company, you’ll need to set up an FTP username and password. They will then provide you with the FTP address to your site. That is what you log into with the FTP username and password you setup. What you login to with the admin user name is your WP blog at wp-login.php .

How do I do that? Do I go back to the FTP site and do it there? I am hosted by https://www.blogthing.com and it’s a free blogging site, so what do I do then? If you can, can you tell me exactly how to do this because I am new at this. I just started today.

Okay, can someone please reply? Just one more question, as I am going to bed: Why don’t I have the miscellaneous link on my OPTIONS link? Everyone says to go there to upload pictures, (and thats what I really want to do) but I don’t have that link. What is the problem, and what can I do to fix it? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Well, you don’t need FTP unless you’re trying to access specific files for download, upload, or permission changes (just incase you’re still talking about your login problems). The instructions for how to setup FTP access should be provided, or you could ask the support at blogthing.

If you’re the admin, you should see it. This all sounds a problem with blogthing. Usually specialized services are pretty bad.
P.S. You have to be patient in these support forums. It’s not like anyone gets paid around here. 25 minutes isn’t a big deal around here, but patience is. The people who get paid (blogthing via the text ads they slam on your blog) should be the people you are impatient with.

I found a link to this via the front page of blogthing.com:
    https://support.forumthing.com/viewtopic.php?id=25
That should be what you need. If not, try their support forums. Macmanx is right – even though it’s supposedly free, they’re making money off your ads…for support issues you should be contacting them.
