Hello, today I am helping a client with their website transfer from a wordpress.com blog to a namecheap hosting service. We successfully transferred the domain to namecheap and installed wordpress to the server, but it was always redirecting back to the original wordpress website. I was looking on my clients wordpress website and I saw that her website was mapped to the wordpress.com blog she had, so I canceled that mapping so all that was on the account was that wordpress blog. Now I go to the website’s admin page after installing wordpress onto it (www.example.com/wp-admin) and I get the message

Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.

. If I could get help with this to fix the website to function as a normal wordpress website I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Transferring the domain to a new registrar doesn’t actually change the domain’s name servers.

Its name servers could still be directed to WordPress.com, so edit the domain in NameCheap (assuming the transfer has finished) and make sure the domain is directed to the hosting account’s name servers.
