I uploaded images to the media library on my web site yesterday and even if the images are in the media library, red x’s just showed up.

This morning I thought that I would update a post and when I click on the “Add media” button in the post I see a lot of red x’s and some visible pictures. I was able to upload some new images but now the uploading of the pictures does not work.

I updated to WP 4.2.2 but it did not make any difference

The interesting thing is that in the view “All Media items” I see a lot of X’s and if I shift to the view “All” I see the images as normal Pictures.

You may have a plugin that is causing some issues.
    Have you tried:
-deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    Hi,

I deactivated all my plugins and updated jetpack but I still see the X’s

I was looking at my blog on my iPad this morning and Everything looked just fine. No X’s. Looked at my blog on my computer on Internet Explorer 11 -> X’s and then I went to Google Chrome -> no X’s so it seems to be a Internet Explorer 11 issue.

I am glad you found the issue. Hopefully you will be able to use Chrome for updating.

I removed the cookies and now I do not see any X’s in IE11.
