• I have a blog installed at https://www.domain.com/blog that works perfectly. My web hotel allows subdirectories to be written as https://blog.domain.com, and in all cases except WP I can access a specific subdir by using either form.

In my cp I have tried all different URL cofigurations when defining wordpress URL and blog URL, but no matter how I define these I end up with only one working way of accessing my blog.

I have 2 diffetent domains with the same web hotel, on one of them the two ways of accessing the blog works, on the other one only one so I doubt the problem is with them.

Does anyone know what this might be and of so how to resolve it?

    Thanks!

  • WP will work perfectly on subdomains like
blog.example.com IF it is not redirected to a subdirectory like example.com/blog

Create a subdomain that is NOT redirected anywhere and it will work!

I don’t direct anything to anywhere, still doesn’t work.

    ok, thanks for “support”.

If your blog is here, https://www.domain.com/blog (subdirectory) and you want to access it by this https://blog.domain.com, this is a redirect. WP does not do well with redirects.

BTW, your comment at the heading of your blog will alienate about 50% of your visitors. If you want to make a “comment” about different browsers it would be better to say “Best viewed by FoxFire” or whatever.

It seems to be a late WP version issue. Subdomains doesn’t work on any of my blogs now.

I just can’s see where I could possibly redirect or un-redirect my subdirs. Most things are running on default settings at my web hotel, and I haven’t made any redirects by myself.

    Anyone?

kmessinger, I will not comment your browser issue since I belive I know my readers better than you do, as well as the reason the “comment” is up there. And the language in the blog will probably alienate even more visitors, don’t you think? Anyway, thanks for the advice. Oopps, now I commented, didn’t i? ??
