i’m having issues with using W3C on this website. I’ve already had to disable lazyloading completely because it creates problems with a quiz plugin I am using. I am also having problems with any of the minify settings, I need to completely disable css minify in general settings for the site to work correctly. ‘ve left it enabled for now so you can see how it throws my main menu out of alignment. all the padding on the menu stops working.

I’ve got debug enabled but I cannot see how to troubleshoot this so I can create exceptions to be able to use minify and lazyloadng.

do I need to uninstall the w3c plugin and use another or can it be fixed?

    thanks

    Hello @jmaartenw

    Thank you for the information.
Unfortunately, there is no way to exclude specific elements from HTML minify.
This happens mostly because the W3TC HTML minify is fairly aggressive and removes all unnecessary things to compress the HTML. In your case, some things like for example some quote or white space is needed for everything to work as expected.
What you can do is to go to Perfomance>General settings, Scroll down to Minify section, and change the HTML minifier: from Minify (default) to HTML Tidy, save all settings and purge the cache and see if the issue persists.
    Thanks!

    hi thanks,

I already tried that, it breaks the site completely.

    Hello @jmaartenw

HTML tidy breaks the site completely?
Well that is odd since HTML Tidy library also removes most of the extraneous white space, but also attempts to correct any mistakes in the HTML markup.
To confirm, the issue is resolved once HTML Minify is completely disabled in Performance>Minify?
Is anything else enabled in the HTML minify section?
    Thanks!

Uhm can’t remember if I left anything enabled there. basically with mininfy enabled the only thing that breaks is the menu bar now as you saw in the image. when I switched to html tidy the whole header was a mess and didn’t work properly.

if you want to I can enable the settings for a short time of your chosing so you can see it in action. i’m not sure how else we’re gonna resolve this issue otherwise
