In installing Analytics 4, the proceed button isn’t working.

Connected Services –> Analytics –> Complete setup –> Configure Analytics –> Additional Permissions Needed – here, the proceed button doesn’t do anything.

I tried deleting plugin and reinstalling it, but it installed where I left off.

    Hi @jgprentice,

Thanks for getting in touch. So we can determine more on this, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.?
    2. When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window does the same occur? If so, please share any browser console errors that appear.?
    3. When you open the Analytics settings page (Site Kit > Settings > Google Analytics > Edit) do you see any errors or warnings? I ask as there may be some permissions notices.

Once we have the above we can advise on this further. Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Sorry, busy week and a half. Still having the issue. Sent site health via form.

As per above, there is a sitekit additional permissions needed, but otherwise no notices. I use Chrome on a Chromebook.

Thanks for the update @jgprentice. I’ve reopened this support topic while we investigate this further.

As I didn’t notice anything unusual with your setup, based on the Site Health information provided, can you confirm that you did grant all requested permissions during setup? If so, please share a screenshot of what you’re experiencing and we can investigate this further. You can use a service such as Loom or RecordIt to share a screen recording, while using the same form previously used to share this privately.?

Within the screen recording please include what you see in your Chrome browsers developer tools window, displaying any console errors that may appear.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Thanks for sharing the additional details @jgprentice. The console errors in particular are very useful. As there is something blocking the creation of a web data stream please follow the steps below, which can help rule out third party plugin conflicts:

    1. Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
    5. Attempt to connect Analytics once more

Note also that based on the screenshots you provided the issue may occur only if you select the option to create a new GA4 property. Should the same occur when following the steps above please share whether you can complete set up if you select an existing GA4 property and web data stream, as opposed to selecting the option for Site Kit to create a one.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Hi, after following those steps, site kit A4 installed and is “connected.” It is worth noting that when attempting to install previously, the webstream was not automatically populated with my site and there was nothing to select. This time however, there was.

A4 is working in regular (not incognito) mode, too.

Many thanks for the update @jgprentice. Great to hear that you’re now connected. If it wasn’t connecting previously but it did on this occasion, using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin via an incognito session this indicates a plugin or possibly browser extension related conflict. If you’re successfully connected, as it sounds like you are, we can leave your connection as it currently is and I’ll mark this support topic as resolved.

Otherwise, if you do wish to try to narrow down any possible cause in the event you may be making changes going forward, please share your full Site Health information and we can troubleshoot this further with your plugin environment. You did fill in the Site Health information form previously, however, this doesn’t include your full plugin environment and other information.

What is the difference between what I sent previously and what you now need? I just went to site health–> info–> copy site info to clipboard.

@jgprentice Apologies, I see you sent your Site Health information twice, with the initial response including your full Site Health information.

If your Site Kit dashboard is displaying Analytics data fine there is no further action required. I did take a look at your environment and I didn’t notice any plugins or setting that may have impacted the proceed button not working previously. That being said, if you run into any further issues or unusual behavior, let us know and we can troubleshoot this further.
