Proceed to Checkout Button URL won’t change

    Hello, I decided to try to use the WooCommerce Blocks for my Cart since it gives the Advance option to change the page to which the “Proceed to Checkout” BUTTON can be redirected to. However, after selecting the page I want the BUTTON to be redirected to – it still redirects to my Checkout page. How can this be fixed? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

    Hi @lalanyc!

    Thanks for reaching out.

    The Cart Block has some limitations since is currently in the experimental phase so the block is not yet a complete replacement for the existing shortcodes.

    Having said that, it appears that I’ve been able to replicate the issue, so please open a new Github report and bring this to the developers’ attention. They should be able to address it in the most appropriate way and confirm it’s a bug. You can open a new issue here:

    Edit: It actually seems I’ve missed the step to change the checkout endpoint page in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Page Setup as highlighted below by Jim 😩. If you set your “Customer Details” page as the checkout page the button should work correctly.

    Yes, thank you! I just created a new GitHub account for this. Do you know if the original
    WooCommerce cart shortcode can be altered? Do you know where is resides in WordPress files – I can’t find it anywhere? All I see is [woocommerce_cart] – no coding. Thank you!

    Since the Cart and Checkout blocks are still under active development and do have some known incompatibilities, I’d like to start by ruling out any issues that might be related to other plugins you have installed.

    Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Can you also confirm if you have updated the Cart or Checkout endpoints under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Page Setup to point to the alternate page(s) you wish to use?

    Your Proceed to Checkout button points to the Customer Details page.

    Head over to the Page setup in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced and select the Customer Details page next to Checkout page. Click on the Save changes button.

    Return to your cart page that has the cart block and the Proceed to Checkout button should now point to the Customer Details page.

    OK! However, my Advanced does not show ‘Search for page” in the field. It states instead ‘Please enter 3 or more characters’. So, do I write ‘smallbusinesswarrior.net/customer-details?

    Correct, that’s exactly what I see on my end too.

    Please enter the first 3 characters of the page by typing Cus in the box.

    It should load the Customer Details page after a few seconds.

    @rainfallnixfig – that did not work ?? It redirected anything and everything that had to deal with the cart to the Customer Details page across the whole website. I just wanted to “Proceed to Checkout” BUTTON to be redirected to the Customer Details page.

    In this case, you could revert back the checkout page to what it was (for example: https://smallbusinesswarrior.net/checkout/) and then use a redirection plugin to create a redirect:
