Is that related to your latest update? Screen

I did the retry connect thing this morning. Again now. I get this tag duoble error. And after refresh it jumps back to retry…. Should I worry and do what?

Hello @hebhansen, thanks for opening a support topic. This message displays when the Analytics property you are selecting is already present on your site. This has likely been placed manually on your site and the message advises that you remove this manually placed code if you would like Site Kit to place the code for you.

Once you locate and remove this code you will no longer see this message and you will be able to select Site Kit to place the code for you.

I’d be happy to check your site setup to see if I can locate this code for you. To do this please could you share your?Site Health information. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred. Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

The issue was not there before the update, that site kit also installed. I am now checking site again and I need to retry again to connect evrything. Its multisite and errors persist.

Site health is sent through form

@hebhansen Thank you for the information. Unfortunately I don’t see any Site Health Information form that has come from you. Could you please try this again and I will check once more.

It is now submitted again. Thx

@hebhansen Thanks for sharing I can now see the information. From what I can see, it looks like you already have your Analytics tag configured as part of your Tag Manager container. If this is the case then you don’r need to have Site Kit place this code for you as that will be covered with Tag Manager.

You can leave this option off and Site Kit will use the Analytics property that’s part of your Tag Manager setup. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Look …. it worked 2 days ago and now it doesn’t. Do I turn off the tags in site kit. Du I terminate tag manager? Advise please

@hebhansen When you say it worked 2 days ago, do you mean the setting for Site Kit to place code on your site? Or do you mean that you are no longer seeing Analytics on your Site Kit dashboard? If you could explain in more detail then I’d be happy to help troubleshoot and suggest some next steps for you.

You can also check your site using https://tagassistant.google.com/ which when checking I can see that your Analytics tag is firing and being picked up so I don’t see any issues there..

I will await your response with further information. Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

I mean placing the code on my site worked before update.

I also mean connecting retry retry and retry

How do I turn off tag manager if thats the choise. Or where do I turn off site kit to place the tag. What do you recommend?

If my tag works, I guess I should stay there. I prefer not to change, since it’s a multisite.

@hebhansen If you wish to disconnect the Tag Manager module in Site Kit you can do this by going to Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Tag Manager > Edit > Disconnect Tag Manager from Site Kit.

If you wish to continue using Tag Manager with the Analytics configured as part of that, you should stop Site Kit from placing the Analytics code on your site by going to Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Analytics > Edit and switching off the Place Google Analytics code setting.

I hope this helps to answer your question but let me know if there is anything else I can help with?

Thx Site kit off and Tag Manager on. Since Google has such an issue if 2 tags are in place, why do you even offer it if a tag is there?

How about a few lines of if > else. That would make life easier for all.

    Thx

@hebhansen Thanks for sharing the screenshots. I can see 2 varying messages here. Wits regards to the cURL errors you are seeing, we have more information on these which do vary. These are typically the result of a misconfiguration at the hosting level, so you’ll need to communicate with your hosting provider or check your hosting configurations to ensure that your site can communicate successfully with?https://sitekit.withgoogle.com.

The data error you are seeing could be related to the cURL error or it could be due to permissions issues. More information on this can be found here.

I would suggest first contacting your hosting provider to see if there is anything at host level that could be causing issues. Once you have check everything and if you are still facing issues then let me know and I will be happy to investigate this further with you.
