I am working on this WordPress website and it has a custom built theme. Everything else works fine but when I upload a variable product, nothing shows up on the front end, it still shows as a simple product with the add to cart button and no options. I also tried using product addons but nothing worked.

Is there a function or anything I need to do to make this work?

Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.

  • Hello,

when I upload a variable product, nothing shows up on the front end, it still shows as a simple product with the add to cart button and no options.

Can you please check the following first?

Variable product is selected for Product data
    – variation is enabled, has a price, and is in stock

If variable products still don’t shop up properly, you’ll next want to run a full conflict test to determine if the issue is coming from a plugin/theme conflict. You can find a detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Thank you for your response. Actually I know it is the theme causing it so it’s not a thing of conflict. I already changed to a default theme and everything worked fine. But switching back to the custom built theme, it doesn’t show up.

So I was wondering whether there could be a function I need to insert somewhere to trigger it. I have already declared Woocommcerce theme support.

    Hi @nas9286

I know it is the theme causing it so it’s not a thing of conflict.

whether there could be a function I need to insert somewhere to trigger it.

It is great that you were able to single out the theme to be the culprit behind this behavior.

Your next step is to reach out to the theme’s author/helpdesk and have them check the issue to determine the cause and how it can be solved.

While we’re experts on our own products, third-party themes/plugins are best supported by their own developers.

@nas9286 Stop with the ALL CAPS TOPIC TITLES. It’s considered yelling here and is rude. Please do not repeat that again. I have decapped this topic.

As further assistance is to be offered by the theme’s team, I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved here.

Feel free to create a new topic if you have other questions related to core WooCommerce.

    Cheers
