    Hello,
i’ve got a weird bug for a few days.

When Google Tag Manager for WordPress is activated, some links (like the product list on product archive page) are no longer clickable. The URL appears at bottom left of my browser window when i hover the link but if I click it, nothing happens.

    Website is on Elementor Pro.

Anyone have this bug too ?

    Hi,

Please test this on your site:

    – open GTM4WP plugin settings
    – save your GTM ID to somewhere safe
    – change the ID to GTM-XXXXXX and save the changes

If the issue is still present, it might be related to GTM4WP if not then you need to go through your codes within your GTM container

    Hello,
my GTM tag is not added with Google Tag Manager for WordPress. I only use your plugin to only add data layer on the page source. So the tag is active in source when plugin is both activated or desactivated.

My tag code (body and head) is added with the plugin GDPR Cookie Consent from WebTofee, after users click on “Accept”, to be GDPR compliant.

I also noticed this morning that the click on the links start to work after having clicked on the button of acceptance of the cookies (and which consequently deposits the GTM Tag).

It’s strange this configuration was not a problem before, the clicks on the products worked very well.

Although I am not a layer, I would suggest to reconsider disabling the whole GTM container without user consent:

    https://gtm4wp.com/gdpr

Usually a better and working approach is to manage tag firing and tag settings using GTM variables by reading the consent cookie.

    Hello Thomas,
Thanks for your time and for this precious information.

I put the code back in the file header.php and I’ve changed the way my tags are fired. Now, UA-xxxxxx and other analytics tags fire when the first party cookie “cookielawinfo-checkbox-analytics” equals to “yes”.

Everything works again like a charm !

    Thank you very much,
    Have a nice day !
