Product attribute as free text or numerical value?

    Is there any way to allow a Product Attribute to accept a numerical value or text?

    I want to offer a fixed Product Attribute title, and then enable the user to input a numerical value (or restricted text) because the values can range from 0-100 with 2 decimal place increments.

    I do not want to use ‘Custom Product Attributes’ which I understand can accomplish this because I only want to offer fixed types (names/labels) of Product Attributes.

    Hi @phirefly,

    Product attributes in WooCommerce are used to create static variations and cannot be used for the purpose which you’ve described. This documentation below describes how attributes and variations can be configured in WooCommerce.

    I’m not personally aware of any plugins I could recommend which would implement the feature you’ve described, but you may be able to locate a plugin here https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/

    If you cannot locate a ready-made plugin, you could hire a developer to implement this functionality for your project.

    Thanks for the quick response… In that case, is there a method of restricting the ‘Custom Product Attributes’ to a list of available names/labels?

    ie. provide a list of ‘Custom Product Attributes’ (names/labels) and only these can be used?

    If it makes any difference, we are only using ‘Simple’ products.

    The free WooCommerce plugin does not contain the functionality which you’ve described above and this would require a plugin ( If such a plugin is available, I couldn’t seem to locate one when searching ) or a custom-coded solution to be implemented.
