    Hello,
I am new to woocommerce and wordpress in general.
I have been reading intensively about both of them lately and I am working on a project at the same time.

I was wondering is there a way to group a type of products in woocommerce and use it to connect this type of products with some specific attributes that we create for this type?

So far I create each product one by one, and assign to it one by one the attributes.

I am using also Drupal for some of my projects and due to this I am making the comparison. In drupal you can set a type of content and add to it the fields that you want to present and then when you add new content to a type of content you do not need to select the fields one by one every time.

This feature saves a lot of time… I hope there is something similar also in woocommerce..

  • You may be able to do this using the duplicate product feature. Make one product with all the common elements and call it say “My product template”. Hover over this product name in the list of products and click “duplicate”, then just alter the unique bits.

    Hello Irro,
Thanks a lot for your help. I have tried it and it works.

I have a small issue though probably attributed to the additional plugins I have added to my multinational woocommerce shop.
When I manually create the attributes from the product page itself then the attributes are copied without any issues.
When I invoke them from the existing attributes that I have created in the attributes section they are not saved (even though i save them during the creation process in the product page.)

My site is using the latest version of WordPress (4.0.1) and the latest woocommerce version plus I have added the below plugins for enabling its translation:
    1. ‘mqtranslate’ plugin to be able to translate the normal content.
    2. ‘qtranslate slug’ to be able to translate the product categories.
    3. ‘im8 qtranslate woocommerce’ in order to be able to translate the product attributes, shipping methods, tags, etc.

I guess on of the above plugins is causing this issue. I need to investigate and find which one it is.

But even so your suggestion is working!
    Thanks a lot.

    Sofia
