Product catalog added by companies

I’m going to make a product catalog in which the products get added by companies, and the companies also have profiles in which the products are displayed. So it’s like a business directory in which companies can add products too.

I’m currently working on a test version in which I’m gonna use Buddypress for company profiles and Woocommerce for the products. I created an user role which can add products and edit their own profiles.

My question is if this is the best way to go (using buddypress), or if anyone has experience with a similar setup. Any tips or comments are appreciated.

Also, does anyone know of a way to use different custom fields for every product category in Woocommerce?
