  • Hey there, @shridsan2010! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Creating the sidebar itself is something that can change depending on the theme you are using. Some themes have a sidebar by default, others don’t, but you can add it, but the steps really depend on the theme.

By default, on WooCommerce, it is possible to add a category list on the sidebar, by using the Product Categories List block.
However, it won’t have the list of products the way the link you shared has.

But you can achieve this with third-party plugins.
I found one that I believe can help you achieve your goal:
    Product Dropdown Widget for WooCommerce.

If you want to look for other options, you can search on the Plugins > Add New section of your dashboard or on a search engine like Google, for example.

Please note that we do not provide support for third-party plugins, so it is good to check the plugin thoroughly to see if it is reliable. You can find more about this in this guide.

I hope this was clarifying. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for the quick reply @carolm29

Yes, i have gone through couple of plugins for the same and trying to understand how it works.

And i’m able to create to the sidebar with product categories but not the dropdown things which is the product list – if you have any info on this, please let me know.

Anyway, thanks for the help and suggestions!

    Hey, @shridsan2010!

If you are not able to achieve you goal with a plugin, you can try custom code.

While we can’t provide support for code customization as per our support policy, we do our best to offer advice and direct you to appropriate resources.

You can visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there too.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

Hi,@carolm29 will please elaborate what does this do? – Only show children of the current category – option available in Widget Section.

May be this is what I want but don’t know exact words or nomenclature for that?

What I want is, in the sidebar it should show like Product Categories Title and under each title all products under that category with dropdown – if this is achievable please let me know, otherwise no worries.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello @shridsan2010,

Hi,@carolm29 will please elaborate what does this do? – Only show children of the current category – option available in Widget Section.

This particular option, when enabled, will display only the subcategories (children) of the currently viewed category in the list. For instance, if you are viewing a parent category page, the list will show only the subcategories belonging to that parent category, not the products themselves.

The Product Categories List Block is designed to display categories in a list format or a dropdown menu but it does not directly display the products under each category. The functionality you’re describing, where you have a list of products under the title of each category with dropdowns, would typically require a different approach or additional plugins.

For showcasing products in the sidebar with expandable category sections, you might want to search for a plugin that specifically offers that feature. Alternatively, developing custom code could also achieve this on your WooCommerce site. You can also seek help from the following:

I wish I could help more, but hopefully, this gets you going in the right direction to get some further insight/information.

    Thanks
