Product Category thumbnail – external URL?

    any snippet or plugin capable of allowing an external url to be used for Product Category thumbnail image?

    a paid version of “Featured Image From URL” supposedly does it so it should be possible, but might require functions.php or template editing to do for free.

    I’ve tried a few plugins that allow adding external images for featured images – but the Product Category isn’t picking them up to display as thumbnails

    I don’t know of any – best practice is to host any images you use on your own site.

    It’s theoretically possible to do, but you’d need to code it yourself.
