Product Category widget not working as drop down list

    When I set the product category widget on the woocommerce menu to drop down, it does not work. You see the heirachy but when you select something nothing happens. If i show it as a list and not as drop down it works.
    Ideally I want as a drop down as this works better on the mobile view in particular.

    Any thoughts on what is stopping the drop down selection working?

    I tested this on my site and I am able to select a category from the drop down and it works as expected:

    This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
    The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.     Thanks for the reply. I have done this and found the autoptimise plugin causes conflict when the Javascript options are on. Have left these off for now so the dropdown menu works. Not sure how this would be fixed

    That’s great to hear you’ve found the culprit to be due to a third party plugin called Autoptimize. The developer of the plugin maybe able to offer some guidance on how you would prevent the plugin from breaking the category dropdown in WoooCommerce.
