Product covers are not being resized?

  • Hi,

    thumbnail/cover/first images in my shop are being displayed in squares 280×280 or 130×130 pixels depending on page (front page or category).

    I am uploading 800×800 pixels images as first/selected image so when customer enlarges image on product page, could see details.

    So far, with previous template, images were being scaled to different sizes depending on place where they are presented. In Astra, on my site, the 800×800 pixels image is used on every occasion. I find that without any sense and making my site to load slower.

    Am I missing some setting?

    In theme customizer I have provided 800×800 pixels as cover photo and 300×300 pixels as thumbnail.

    As we can you are using the second layout which occupies more space than the image on top. It could be one of the reasons.

    Do try the other layout if feasible or reducing the columns so that the images sizes can be accommodated. It will help somewhat with the Image sizes.

    Here’s the screencast of what I mean.

    While if you don’t see the Images sizes being generated it could be that the sizes are not created. You can try using the following plugin Regenerate Thumbnails used to regenerate Image sizes.
