Product Custom Visibility: no options is selection field

I installed this for one reason: to be able to hide certain products that would only be accessible via direct link — not in the store, not in product search, not in related products. But with Product Custom Visibility enabled, the Edit Product page shows the visibility field, but there’s only a small X (to deselect some unnamed option, obviously). No options are loading, so I cannot select anything. Help?
