If you have WordPress websites when you are logged in and working in the backend – this extension conflicts with the Help and screen options tabs. The tab dropdowns are still there but when they drop down they are empty. These are known as the contextual menu. The content changes relevant to the screen or app you are administering. I noticed that the screen options would display a different size dropdown dependent on context. This suggests the data is there but not displayed. If you have Woocommerce installed. Editing or adding product – the product data section cannot be selected or edited. I have tested the conflict in my chrome browser having the website admin in one tab and the settings screen for Chrome extension in another. If I disable this extension – go the website screen and refresh – then experience the above-mentioned conflict. Go back and disable the extension and the website functions correctly again.

    Hi @outlaw11wa

Thanks for the note about this.

It sounds like the browser extension is indeed conflicting with the product edit text boxes – is this just related to WooCommerce or is this the same behaviour with other WordPress text areas?

I’m going to mark this thread as resolved as it isn’t the fault of WooCommerce. My recommendation would be to reach out to the developer of this extension to see if they are able to close this bug.

If you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply Doug, it just seems to affect the WordPress screen options and Help taps in Admin and the Woocommerce Product Data Tab in my Website. There may be other data masked by this phenomenon but as yet I am unaware of what that might be. I presume that the people involved in the core code of WordPress and Woocommerce might have an idea where this Chrome plugin might be capable of interacting or corrupting their display code. The developers link on the Chrome Plugin just leads to a Github page where the Author says it was developed on an existing app and accepts no responsibility accordingly. Seems to have become an orphan. So dead end there. Maybe I can find someone in google to remove it from the extension library if this is the case.

Sorry, I since found a support page and reported it to the developer.

just in case anyone is having the same issue – i just discovered that my extension
FB Audience Insights Plus was the one causing the issue. now i disabled it and my product data tabs are working again!

@vakreiki Thank you sooo much! I have been banging my head trying to figure it out. Disabled all my plugins, still not working. Only when I read your comment did I have it solved, I did see that it was the FB Audience Insights Plus that was causing it. Thanks again!
