Product details not showing after publishing

    I’m trying to learn wordpress and my products don’t work. When I make a new product and preview it, it works, once published it no longer shows up. I’m sure it is something simple that I just don’t know.

    I’ve tried permalinks but may have done something to pages that affected them.

    Is there a difference between “shop” and “products”? I would think they would be synonymous or redundant.

    If it easier to start from scratch, I just need to know how to reinstall everything to new.

  • I wouldn’t reinstall everything. Instead, its likely that there is something not quite right in your settings.

    Your “products” page is non-standard and looks like something you have set up. Have a look at your pages in the list of pages. I think you’ll find both a Shop page and a Products page. You need only one, so bin the other. Next, go to:
    Dashboard > WooCommerce > Settings > Product tab
    and ensure the Shop page dropdown points to the page you have selected as your shop page.

    On the permalinks page, I should choose the predefined shop base with category option for the time being, then click Save twice. If you want a custom permalink, I should leave that task for later.
