Since Months we having trouble with the standard WooCommerce Product export function which work totally instable like “the moody mother-in-law”.
Trying to catch the export CSV on the server is impossible, because it will be deleted by woocommerce immediately when starting the instable download.

Please give us the possibility to do the download by ftp so long until this horrible malfunction is solved.
Sorry, but it is really annoying to constantly have to fight with the same known inadmissibility when standard FTP download functions well.

Please. we waiting since we started this project in 2017 and got already updates, but still this basic functions working instable and in a wrong way.

    Thanks for instant help !

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had so much trouble with the export function! I haven’t heard of it being unstable like that.

If you’d like to see the the ability to download the export via FTP in WooCommerce, I recommend adding it to the WooCommerce Github respository as an enhancement – or developing it yourself and sharing it via a pull request:

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

Sorry, that I could not answer in this short time, but we have so much wellknown trouble with woocommerce and have to find ways to prevent funny answers to real problem like I get from you.
We are also programmers, but oldstyle and responsible guys. The actually programmers like to talk easy, like “never heard this before” or “you are the first customer with this problem”.
But behind this words is the truth, which says “we are not interested to work on done mistakes, we have more important new things to do”. This style teaches the big company MS very successful.
Our job is to feed well done software with data and not to do somebody else work who was to lazy or not able to finish his/her work nicely.

Also the the import function, which should take the already uploaded new Updates (CSV-Files) directly from the hosting server in the SQL-Database, works NOT.
We started with a challenge of 30MB CSV File and then cutted step by step down until we had a funny tiny and nice prepared 390KB Update CSV-File.
The last 390KB File runs more then 30min (Whow thats Stoneage timing) and runs into nirvana with no error Message. And all without internet transfer, directy from hosting server to the hostingserver.
By the way hostingcompanies don’t allow user configurations !! They perhaps follow only the instructions/suggestions of WP and WooCommerce.

So what should i say that you close that thread ? I am impressed …

Thanks for the help and the great tip “do it by yourself”

    Hi Martin,
Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like you feel we aren’t taking you seriously, or we are trying to get rid of you. I apologize if it sounded that way. You see, this forum is mostly for WooCommerce users who need assistance with settings or who are stuck between the plugin and their theme. The conversation with developers happens mostly on GitHub: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues

Since you are developers yourself, I feel confident that I can put you in touch with our developer team itself.

I searched through the issue list (closed and open), and found one issue that might be related: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/18321
It has a fix, which should be included in WooCommerce 3.3 (you can download the release candidate here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/tree/release/3.3).

If you still run into the same timeout with the master branch, and since you are a developer yourself, could you then open an issue in the WooCommerce repo itself with steps on how to reproduce the problem? If you share the link with us here, we can certainly follow up internally to make sure you get an answer.
