Product featured images (thumbnail -> full)

Hi,

While everything is working nicely, I’m concerned in regards to the products featured images.

I have added 6 large images to the product page. These are meant as full screenshots of the product. Works fine, click the image and you get the full size. The problem is the thumbnail isn’t actually using thumbnail size of that image. It’s the full sized images loading on the product page itself, just with the image dimensions doing a 99% reduction in display size.

Serve scaled images is really bad for the product pages. You could save KBs, even MBs, in page loading by using a thumbnail image instead.

Thumbnails are normally created by WordPress automatically for the media images… is it possible to use a real thumbnail which opens to the full image?

Note: I’m using ‘FancyBox’ to open on the same page, if that makes any difference.
