Product from Cart shown in Cross Sells

    Hi,

    I have a woocommerce shop with variable and simple products (the simple products can have options as well as I installed the “Extra Product Option” plugin).
    My following question relates to both product types:

    Can I add the product which a user put to the cart already to the cross-sell products?
    At the moment, if I list the product under “linked products – cross sells” it will not be shown under the cross sells, if it is already in the cart.
    (I am asking for both, variable and simple products, as I am aware I could add a variable product with different options to the cross-sells. that however is not exactly what I want)

    Hi there,

    Would you mind elaborating the use case here in a bit more detail? Why would a customer want to purchase a cross-sell product if they’ve just added it to their cart?

    sure, every product has various options (even the simple products due to the “extra product option” plugin. I am selling food in the shop. So if client chooses a certain dish with eg. the vegetarian option, i want him to have alink to the same product in the cross sells section, and when he goes to the product he might choose the same dish with chicken or meat.

    Hi @jay1977. There is no built-in option is WooCommerce to set up cross-sells for variations as cross-sells are set by product. You would need to find and set up an extension that that lets you cross-sell products based on attributes. I hope that points you in the right direction!
