    Hi!

We are using the “Hand-picked Products” block for our blog posts, and when we click any “Add to cart” button, the page simply reloads, but we don’t get a notice that the item has been added to our cart, like we do if we are on any of our shop/product pages. But then, we noticed when we move to any shop page, the notice does show, but it’s confusing as now we’re on an entirely new product page. The notice should show after the item is added to the cart, not after we move away from our blog. It’s confusing our users and we’ve had a few emails from our customers about it.

How can we get that to show on the blog, when the item is added to the cart, and *not* show after when we navigate to a new page?

    Thank you!

    Hello there,
    This behavior is expected!

If you test with other themes as well, the added to cart notice only shows on the product page.

It would not show on the shop page, or anywhere you add a shortcode to show products since products would be added dynamically to the cart via AJAX.

If you do not have the AJAX add to cart enabled, the notice should show on blog posts and archives as well. I just tested this on the Storefront theme and it works.

I recommend testing with a different theme if you are not using Storefront or TwentyNineteen already to confirm if the notice shows in those cases.

I remember there was a setting for the AJAX add to cart but I’m no longer able to find it. Can you point me in the right direction? I’d like to test how it works with that setting changed.

    Thank you!

You can find it in WooCommerce > Settings > Products > General.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
