    Hello,

My website is doing something very odd that it hasn’t done before. When I upload a vertical photo as a second product image it automatically flips it. I haven’t had this issue when uploading vertical photos in the past.

I went ahead and changed the aspect ratio of image thumbnails to 1:1 via the Customize Appearance menu for WooCommerce but it didn’t seem to do anything.

I’ve attached photos of examples. Does anyone have any advice?

  • Hi @mbanta45,

My website is doing something very odd that it hasn’t done before. When I upload a vertical photo as a second product image it automatically flips it. I haven’t had this issue when uploading vertical photos in the past.

From what I understand, you’re experiencing an issue where your vertical product images are being automatically flipped when uploaded as a second product image. You’ve also mentioned that changing the aspect ratio of image thumbnails to 1:1 via the Customize Appearance menu didn’t resolve the issue.

Firstly, I’d recommend checking if you’re running the latest version of WooCommerce and WordPress. If not, please update them as new updates often come with bug fixes.

Secondly, this could be a plugin conflict. Please try to temporarily deactivate all your plugins except WooCommerce and see if the problem persists. If the problem is resolved, reactivate your plugins one by one to identify the culprit.

Thirdly, it might be a theme issue. To rule this out, you can temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme like Storefront and see if the problem persists. Here’s a helpful guide on how to test for conflicts: ?? How to Test for Plugin and Theme Conflicts.

Lastly, you could try regenerating your thumbnails. You can do this by going to WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Regenerate Shop Thumbnails > Click – Regenerate (Button on right).

If none of these solutions work, could you please provide us with a bit more information? Specifically, we’d need to know the exact steps you’re taking when uploading the image and any error messages you’re seeing. If possible, please also include the original image file you’re trying to upload.

Also, we’d find it helpful if you could share your site’s System Status report. This will give us a better understanding of your site’s setup and help us pinpoint the problem. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Lastly, could you share the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Once you’ve gathered this information, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com to paste it and share the link with us.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation in this matter! We’re here to help you get this sorted.
