Product images are missing

To clarify, product images are set from the backend, but not showing on the frontend?

If so, this kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. The best way to determine this is to:

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
• Test to see if the issue has been resolved

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Sorry to hear about it. I haven’t really seen it happen too often and it may be hard to realize what’s causing it. Have you recently done changes to your site, like installing new plugins or adding custom code?

• System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
• Fatal Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

Thank you for your answer but we doubt that reason is the outdated version of WP. We have not updated WP or WP-database in a while because updating those always made our website problematic and we did not have any issue with it before we did not do any major change in our website. Don’t you think the problem might come from one of the WP databases?

Deciding not to update WooCommerce core, WC database, and the theme is generally not a very good idea since it could cause all sorts of issues, including security vulnerabilities. In fact, developers provide software updates to fix compatibility issues and avoid site exploits.

That said, because it is not recommended to perform updates on a production site, you can quickly set up a staging site where you can run updates and test them. If there are no errors, it should be safe to update the live site as well, but with a full backup first, in case something goes wrong.

If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

Can you please re-load some of the missing images and observe whether they stay or disappear? This is needed in order to confirm whether the problem still persists or not, after updating everything.

If newly reloaded images go missing again then please let us know so we can troubleshoot further.

Thanks for your response. We will assign images for few of them and let you know. But what can we do to return the missing images. We have almost 2400 product which the image for more than half on it are missing. Assigning the image one by one for these takes a lot of time . Do you have any, suggestion for this problem ?

Do you see those images in your media library? If yes, you can bulk-assign images using the built-in product importer and exporter.

This does seem like an odd behavior between your host/server setup and WooCommerce. In this case, you’ll need to get in touch with your host, since WooCommerce does not have permission to delete content on its own.

It is possible that you are reaching the storage limit on your hosting plan and this is why images are being deleted automatically. This is something you should check with your hosting company.

Thanks for your response, but reaching the storage limit cannot make this problem in our case for several reasons. First, we have unlimited storage with our dream host plan and also we checked with them and we have no technical problem with our host, second why just pictures that are uploaded in 2019 are missing? and third if that is the case, after that most of the images were deleted it should be bunch of space for new pictures but still after a day pictures are missing again.
We are loosing costumers everyday due to this problem and we need a better communication way for solving this issue. Is it possible to share a phone number with us so we can call and make a progress. Because this is getting too long with this form of communication.
