• Hi Thomas,

Great work with the plugin so far, how is work going on the next version?

It seems like that in Google Analytics under Ecommerce > Product List Performance that the “Product List Name” isn’t being passed to analytics for all transactions? We have a lot of recent transaction with (Not Set). I presume this comes through the GTM4WP plugin but perhaps I am mistaken?

    I hope you can assist!

Thanks again for the great work! ??

    Hi,

I’ve seen this in my own GA reports as well and I’ve just talked about this with other professionals. Normally, product list name attributes through the ecommerce funnel from the last ecommerce action. In our case, a click on a product in a product list should tell GA which product list was driving subsequent ecommerce actions like add to cart, checkout and of course purchase but something breaks.

I still try to find out why, normally that should not happen and in my tests, there are some cases when product list name attribution works.

As far as I can see GTM codes are OK but there must be something wrong.

One thing you should know: this kind of product list name attribution only works within the same session thus you will always see some not set product lists if your customers leave your site before any specific middle or lower funnel events and then revisit your site for example on your product detail page. This behavior is related to Google Analytics and not my plugin.

    Hi Thomas,

    Thanks for the feedback! ??

The products I am seeing with no product list names are actually products that have been checked out so I am pretty sure the checkout process has been completed in the same session. Although the question is if the user had the product in there shopping basket from a previous session would the product list name be set? (I guess not? Would this be possible to implement?)
