    Good day
I use the PDF invoices plugin and I am running into an issue where, when I try and download old invoices (that were created with an old product that we no longer sell/were created on our old website), the product name and other details don’t show up any more (see first two pictures of invoice PDF and order page – https://ibb.co/Kx1MfCy
https://ibb.co/jZ0v1Z3). The order amount still shows up though. This is most likely because I exported all invoices and then imported them onto our new website, and so I suspect that there is a link missing to the old product. Is this the case/have you ever come across this and is there maybe something you know of that I could do to fix this?

    How they should look: https://ibb.co/cFy8XyV
    https://ibb.co/R7nmZsc

I need to send all our invoices to our accountant and I can’t send them without the product name of course.

The other issue is, that after I imported all invoices into our system they were copied into the system +- 5 times (See picture – https://ibb.co/hZcZN9y). Luckily the invoice numbers didn’t change. Any quick and dirty solution to this maybe?

Many thanks for your help ??

    Hello @ds97

Looking at your screenshots I believe some meta data from the order items is missing there.

To keep the old PDF data intact you should use our Professional extension, because it has a feature to save the PDF to the server, keeping it’s original data. This way you can move the data and the PDF’s safely to the new setup.

    Hi alexmigf,
    Thanks for your reply.
So the problem is, that the old site is no longer is use, and the back up I have does not include the invoices. I separately downloaded the invoices as PDFs thinking all was in order, but now all the pdf invoices don’t have the invoice number, just the order number on them, so now I need to redownload them with the invoice number for my accountant, from my new website, where the product is missing. So my issue is retrospective.

I will keep the pro version in mind for the future, but is there any way to add this product back or something so that I don’t have to manually add the product to each invoice or manually assing each invoice number to the old invoices?

I’m desperately trying finding a way not to spend my evenings sifting through a years worth of invoices trying to fix my mistake ??

    Thanks for your help

Unfortunately, the free version of our plugin can only work with the data from the orders. This means that if you exported/imported only the orders themselves (with order meta) but not the order items/order item meta (which are separate tables in the DB), then WooCommerce does not have access to that information and as a result our plugin cannot show it either.

To be clear, it does not need the products on the site (although that would be more optimal because it can then also link to product data like SKU and weight), but it does need the order items.

    I’m sorry I don’t have a simple solution for you here ??

    Hi Ewout
    Thanks for your answer.
Would I be able to resolve this by upgrading?
Anything at all I could do? ??

    Thanks

No, if the information was already deleted, upgrading will not help to make it appear again. Do you not have access to the old DB anymore? Where did you export these orders from in the first place?
