Thanks in advance for your help.

I’m having trouble getting some of our retail products to show up in the categories we assign them to.

    Example: polyester thread sample book.

General category: Assigned but does not show up.
    >>>>>Sample subcategory: Assigned and does show up.

Thread category: Assigned but does not show up.
    >>>>> Polyester thread subcategory: Assigned but does not show up.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Polyester thread size #1 sub-sub-category: Assigned and does show up.

    Solutions we’ve tried:

    1. Deleting host cache for the relevant pages.

What other solutions can I try? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi @davefineleather

From your description it seems that the products are showing up in only the lowest level of category.

Could you please go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools and run Regenerate for the Product Lookup Tables?

Let us know if that does the trick!

Thanks, Margaret. Will regenerating for the product lookup tables have any kind of adverse effect on the site or our existing products? I just want to be sure before moving forward.

    I appreciate your help!

    Hi @davefineleather,

As this operation will directly regenerate tables from the database you’d want to ensure that you have a full backup of your site and database in case anything goes wrong.

You could consider using a service like Jetpack or installing a plugin like UpdraftPlus. If something goes wrong it’s nice to know that you can restore your site to the previous state.

You might also want to consider a conflict test to see if the issue is caused by a plugin/theme conflict with WooCommerce.

Here are the steps for doing a conflict test:

Let us know how it goes.
