Product pages are loading very slow

  • Hi,

    I’m a happy user of this plugin, use it on several website and Woocommerce webshop. I recently launched a new webshop and installed the plugin. I notice that the product pages are loading very slow. It takes 2-3 seconds before a product page will load. All other pages are loading just fine. In Google Console and a website speed tool I see that the plugin is causing the issue.

    I’ve disabled all plugins except Woocommerce and this plugin, but the issue still appears. I also tried to put the GTM code separately in the header, but unfortunately the slow loading times on product pages won’t disappear.

    Could you please help out? I can’t figure out why the plugin is causing this loading issue.

    I did some more testing and found at that this particular setting is causing the product pages to load very slow:

    Track enhanced e-commerce

    As soon as I tick this box, the product pages load slow. When it is deactivated, the product pages are loading on normal speed. I use this plugin to track enhanced e-commerce, so I need this functionality to use the plugin.

    Sorry for this late reply: so only product detail pages are loading slow? Or product category pages are also affected?

    Hi Thomas,

    Only the product pages were loading slow, the category pages were not affected. I’ve deactivated the plugin in the meantime and found another solution for tracking enhanced ecommerce.

    Thanks for your answer: just one more question to make sure I am moving to the right direction while exploring the issue: did it affect simple product pages or just variable product pages?

    The issue occurred on variable product page (I don’t have any simple products on my webshop). Let me know if you need more information from my side. I’ve send you an email 2 weeks ago with a screenshot, maybe that helps.

    I have the same problem and in the meantime I’ve seen other webshops that also have a small delay before the product page starts to load…

    Has a solution been found yet?

    I was not able to examine this on other webshops therefore no solutions have been found yet.

    I send you a mail about this. It’s a big issue for us.
